Weddings are normally celebrated within the spiritual community to which the couple belongs. Episcopal Church law requires that one member of the couple be a member of the Episcopal Church and that there be premarital counseling. Our clergy will be glad to talk with engaged couples.
Weddings are allowed by the Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Los Angeles for all couples, regardless of sexual orientation. The purpose of marriage is the sanctification of the couple, and to that end for their mutual joy, for the help and comfort given one another, and for the nurture of children, if children are a part of the couple’s life. Couples agree that this is their purpose in marriage.
Honoraria for services rendered are usual, but in case of financial necessity, these may be adjusted or waived.
